About “The Artist’s Way”
The Artist's Way: A Spiritual Path To Higher Creativity is a book by author Julia Cameron. Amber and Julia share the same belief that everyone is an artist. Everyone has the right to create. The book was written to help people with creative recovery. It teaches techniques and exercises to assist people in gaining self-confidence in harnessing their creative talents and skills. The author highlights a link between creativity and a spiritual connection with a higher power as a cornerstone of engaging with our inherent creativity. We need not be traditional artists - musicians, painters, writers, etc. - to be creative and to benefit from this book. Creativity is our nature and inherent in all that we do, no matter our chosen profession or path in life.

I sure hope so! This program has the ability to benefit everyone. All it takes is a willingness and readiness to be open to change.
“No matter what your age or your life path, whether making art is your career or your hobby or your dream, it is not too late or too egotistical or too selfish or too silly to work on your creativity.”― Julia Cameron, The Artist’s Way

Over the course of 6 weeks, you, me and a select few will meet virtually, in the privacy of our own homes to review themes, exercises, projects, and progress from our week. Together we will “circle up” and dive into our inner landscape through guided meditations and gentle movement to access our full creative potential. This will not be a classroom setting; rather a non-hierarchical, peer-run creative process. So come ready to share.
The support of the group will help you hold yourself accountable to stay on track.

Our Meetings will be held online via Zoom on Sunday afternoons, January 8th - February 12th, at 2:00 pm EST and will last roughly an hour and a half.
Attendees will receive an email with instructions on how to access meetings prior to each class. Any recordings will be sent out the following day

How much you engage with the material is really up to you. At the very least you will be spending 1.5 hours at our weekly meetings and roughly an hour per day doing your morning pages, nature walks, and reading the material. That’s less than 10 hours per week. You will be highly encouraged to take yourself on an “artist date” once a week and join the yoga class following our meetings for integration.
-
Yes. Of course, we will want to see your lovely face each week but understand that you may have to miss a class. Recordings will be sent out the following day. Just do your best to catch up.
-
After our meetings you’re invited to take a break, get some water and then join a gentle flow yoga class beginning at 4 pm EST — a great way to treat yourself and process the work we've gone through with the group. The yoga classes are available to you free of charge. These classes are beginner friendly.

In order to keep the cohorts financially accessible, I chose to only lead groups through the first 6 chapters. This time frame will help you solidify your commitment to “the work”. The aim is for the cohort, or what Julia Cameron calls the “creative cluster”, to carry on together even when the 6-week course has come to an end.
-
Early bird registration will begin November 28th for the Winter cohort. The first class will be January 15th.
